What Is the Difference Between Deep Cleaning and a Regular Cleaning?

We at Brilliant Housecleaning are often get asked what is the difference between regular cleaning and deep cleaning? If you want to know the answer too, keep reading.

Regular cleaning definition

The easiest way to describe regular cleaning is it involves a set of cleaning tasks that are done on a regular basis. This is often referred to as domestic cleaning.

Regular cleaning is what most homeowners do on a daily and weekly basis. Deep cleaning, however, is carried out every 6 months or so.

Regular cleaning will maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness around the house. And will often cover such things as:

  • hoovering and mopping floors;
  • cleaning bathrooms;
  • Tidying up;
  • cleaning the kitchen;

However, when it comes to deep cleaning this is a very different kettle of fish and is often a requirement before someone moves in or out, for example, a tenant, also is known as an end of tenancy cleaning.

The definition of deep cleaning

This, as mentioned above, is different from regular or spring cleaning, as it reaches the deep grime and dirt found in your home. It will cover areas that are not usually covered by a regular or spring clean, and includes the following:

  • Behind kitchen appliances such as the washing machine and oven, removing grime that has built up;
  • Beneath the sink;
  • In the oven and does include the oven door glass;
  • Inside of window frames and doors;
  • In and outside windows;
  • Washing all the blinds if applicable;
  • Full dusting that includes the corners of rooms where cobwebs lurk;
  • Scale removal from bathroom tiles, kitchen taps, showerheads, etc;
